Accessibility Statement
South Florida Faves is committed to making South Florida Faves accessible to everyone, and to conforming with WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
Our commitment
South Florida Faves is committed to ensuring that South Florida Faves is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe that discovering the best of South Florida should be usable by all members of our community, regardless of ability or the assistive technology they use.
Conformance standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities. We apply these goals across our website and mobile app (including our progressive web app and native builds).
Measures we take
To support accessibility, we work to:
- use semantic HTML, descriptive headings, and landmark structure so content is navigable with assistive technology;
- provide text alternatives for meaningful images and clear labels for controls;
- support keyboard navigation and visible focus states;
- maintain sufficient color contrast and readable, resizable text; and
- consider accessibility in our design and development process and testing.
Ongoing efforts & known limitations
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We regularly review the Service and work to improve it, and we are progressively addressing areas that fall short of our goals. Some content — such as third-party maps, embedded social posts, aggregated news elements, or user-submitted media — may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA because it is provided or controlled by third parties. We work to minimize these gaps and welcome your feedback where you encounter barriers.
Report an accessibility issue
If you experience any difficulty accessing part of the Service, or have suggestions for improvement, please let us know. When reporting an issue, it helps to include:
- the page or feature (a URL is ideal);
- a description of the problem you experienced;
- the browser, operating system, and any assistive technology you were using; and
- your contact information so we can follow up.
We take accessibility feedback seriously and will make reasonable efforts to address issues and provide the information or functionality you need through an accessible alternative where necessary.
